It’s a late autumn evening, the sunlight has almost vanished from the world, and I’m lying in bed, searching for an old photo.
Along the way, I scroll through others—ones from the time when I felt most loved by my former partner. It was beautiful. We were there for each other, offering a kind of support that’s hard to find today. I remember the feeling of joy when we realized our feelings were mutual. That energy gave me the strength to start preparing everything—for our life, for our happiness.
As I look at those pictures, I feel happy and loved, and tears run down my cheeks. It was beautiful. Why is it gone? Why can’t something so wonderful last forever and keep making us happy? I pause and realize that both she and I have become completely different people. We now see with different eyes, long for different things.
One of her thoughts still echoes in my mind:
“We’re here for each other now, because we need each other now—to be able to move forward.”
“No… why would you say that? We’ve found each other, and I’ll do anything to make this last forever.”
She was right. In relationships, she was far ahead of me. She accepted it before I could even understand it.
Not all bonds are meant to last. Some are only here to guide us, to strengthen us, to show us our path.
It’s important to accept that people come and go once they’ve fulfilled their purpose in our lives.
Only then can we truly move toward the person we’re meant to become.
